EARTH HOUR ON SATURDAY 27 MARCH 2010 AT 8.30pm

Support & involved yourself during earth hour

It is that time of the year again ! Please switch off all non-essential lighting in all buildings and facilities from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm this Saturday in support of EARTH HOUR. Let’s do our part in this global movement in creating awareness of how much energy we actually can do away with everyday in our lives be it in the office or our homes.

Over the past few years the world has experienced tremendous financial and economic challenges, globally. This has presented us with the most challenging period in the history of mankind. Earth Hour (27 March 2010) is celebrated on every last Saturday of March each year from 2030hrs to 2130hrs around the world. I’m once again supports Earth Hour 2010 as I did last year. Switch off lights and appliances not in use before you leave office on Friday 26 March.

Also join Earth Hour at home this Saturday, 27 March 2010 from 2030hrs to 2130hrs (in your local time zones). Earth hour first began in Sydney, Australia in 2007 to show their stand against climate change. The Australian community were committed and in unity turned off their lights for an hour. It was a start towards making this planet a better place to stay.

A year later, it became a global, a 60-minute event where more than 50 million people across borders united with a hope of creating a sustainable future. Last year, the number increased to over hundreds of millions people who officially switched off their lights to pledge support for the planet.Log on to earthhour.org or 60earthhour.org for more information on how you and your team as well as families can take part in Earth Hour 2010.

I anticipate that we have some short-term pain along the way but this is investment and compromise is necessary for us to reap the long-term benefit of out beloved home earth. Thank you all for your support for earth hour 2010.
